Several times in the printed installation instructions using a torque wrench is mentioned but there are not any torque specks on the installation instructions, nor is a torque wrench listed as one of the tools needed to complete the installation. Also in the on-line videos, you can see a torque wrench being used, but never mentioned, nor is the amount of torque required mentioned.. Also, some of the drill bit sizes showing on the installation sheet are not correct.
Hello,
We are planning to release new instructions for all Sumosprings in the near future that will include torque specifications as well as address a few other typos and such. In the past, we did not include these but would provide the specs when requested, mainly because most of the end users did not have a torque wrench or want to purchase one. We tried to keep it as user friendly as possible knowing that those who did would know what torque to use for most standard size fasteners. Another reason is that not all the hardware is used in such a way that a specific torque can be applied. Bolts that clamp a bracket to a spring for instance, end up with a gap between the two parts and an accurate torque is not possible.
Please give us a call (800.898.0705) for any specific questions and check back with us for updated instructions soon.
Thank you,
Chad
