How much clearance is needed between Upper Frame Bracket and the coach? Fleetwood has what appears to be a 1 1/2″ angle iron about 3/16″ thick that seems to be part of the coach mounting, with one leg being horizontal under the coach and the other being vertical to the outside of the frame and about 1 1/2″ or less above the top frame bracket. It looks as this runs the length of the coach.

I don’t have a problem notching this out but need to know if it is necessary to do so.

After I sit and think about this I am guessing that I have nothing to be concerned about. If the couch mounting starts hitting anything that would mean that its mountings broke and then I got big problems.

    Hi there,

Great question! Not much space is needed, as the brackets flex very minimally. At the very least however, there should be 3/4 of an inch of clearance to be safe. Your conclusion regarding unwanted movement is correct, as there would be a much bigger issue if that were to happen. To answer your original questions though, I’d make sure there is at least 3/4 of an inch for possible but minimal movement.
